Is My Hospital Mandated?
Two CMS episode models can require participation: TEAM (selected hospitals, 2026–2030) and CJR-X (nationwide joint replacement, starting 2028). Use this page to pick the right check, then confirm on the list or the CJR-X eligibility rules.
Which model applies?
CMS TEAM (now)
Mandatory for 721 selected IPPS hospitals in designated CBSAs. Not a nationwide list — search by name or state.
Search the TEAM listCJR-X (2028)
Mandatory nationwide for most hospitals paid under both IPPS and OPPS. TEAM participants, Maryland, CAHs, and Rural Emergency Hospitals are excluded.
CJR-X eligibility rulesHow to check TEAM
- Open the TEAM hospital list and type your facility name.
- If you know the state, click it on the map to open that state’s named roster.
- If the facility is not on this snapshot, it is not on Rainfall’s copy of the CMS Q2 2026 Participant List (June 23, 2026). Confirm against cms.gov if you need the official file.
How to check CJR-X
- If the hospital is on the TEAM list, it is excluded from CJR-X until TEAM ends (December 31, 2030).
- Maryland hospitals are excluded under the state’s Medicare payment model.
- Critical Access Hospitals and Rural Emergency Hospitals are excluded because they are not paid under both IPPS and OPPS.
- Other acute-care hospitals paid under both IPPS and OPPS are generally required to participate beginning January 1, 2028. See the CJR-X eligibility chapter.

TEAM confirmation uses the same roster as the searchable hospital list. CJR-X does not publish a named participant list like TEAM.
